Discover the benefits of ethical behaviour
Ethical compliance is more than meeting are requirement. It is a journey that can strengthen your organisation, build trust and create a lasting value. At MCS Ethics and Compliance I help organisations understand they journey and turn ethical principles into practical improvements.
My journey into ethical compliance
My journey began in 2011, with a strong belief in protecting companies, brands, supply chains, customers and most importantly your own workforce.
I researched SA8000, BSCI and SMETA before recommending the SMETA audit pathway starting off through SEDEX membership (this is not the only pathway but worked best for a manufacturing company who produced predominantly garments and workwear).
Experience that created practical insight
I became an IRCA Accredited Social Auditor and completed nearly 100 days of auditing across the UK, Europe and the Far East.
This experience shaped my approach: ethical compliance should be rigorous, practical and focused on meaningful improvement, not simply a tick-box exercise.
Turning ethical standards into business value
I worked closely with the Purchasing Director to create a Global Certification Program for Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and in doing so was able to use this information together with policies, procedures and auditing data to successfully improve our EcoVadis rating from being initially a Bronze medal user to a Gold Medal supplier.
